About us

How we are funded

Every year vital funds are raised to support cancer patients and their families through donations and appeals, our shops, fantastic supporters, legacy gifts and from trusts and grants. We couldn't achieve what we do without this support.

How we raised our money in 2015/2016

Our shops

We have a chain of 65 shops across Wales and the South West of England selling high quality donated clothes, books and bric-a-brac.

Each one of our shops has a fantastic team of volunteers and forms a large part of the fundraising initiative of Tenovus Cancer Care. Find out more about our shops.

Since 1943 people have been turning to Tenovus Cancer Care for support, treatment and care. And we've been with them every step of the way. We're only able to do this because of people like you, but we want to be there for even more people, whenever and wherever we’re needed most.

As you can see, gifts left in Wills make up a significant proportion of the money we receive, and are essential to our work. Without these generous donations, we couldn’t be there for the thousands of people affected by cancer who use our services. We can all leave Tenovus Cancer Care a gift in our Will and care for our family, whatever our circumstances.

Trusts & grants

Grants from trusts and foundations are an important funding source for the charity that can provide significant funding towards the overall cost of specific projects.

Over the years, many trusts and foundation have supported the charity by annually awarding us a grant towards our varied support programme for cancer patients, their families and carers. We're so grateful to these charities for their continued support over many years.

Big Lottery Fund

In 2012 we recieved £1 million of Lottery Funding to set up 15 'Sing with Us' choirs across Wales. We now have a choir in every Health Board in Wales. Find out more about joining a choir here.

Community fundraising

Every year, thanks to the hard work, commitment and generosity of our community supporters including our Friends of Tenovus Cancer Care groups, we're able to help support more cancer patients and their families. Each and every coffee morning, cycle ride, lottery ticket and donation has helped us achieve that. Find out more about fundraising here.

Corporate support

Each year our corporate partners provide outstanding support. From Charity of the Year fundraising through to sponsorship of our services and events, their significant contributions meant we can continue to provide our vital services.
