Join us as a Health and Wellbeing Assistant

Bethan Georgie Jacob Roath Park Primary

For us, it’s a really important part of our job to make sure that we help those affected by cancer. It’s also really important that we promote healthy lifestyles and show people how they could lower their chances of being diagnosed with cancer.

That’s why we’re looking for a group of volunteers to help us in our health and wellbeing mission! We need friendly and enthusiastic people to help us deliver our healthy living project in the local community in Glynneath  By volunteering with us you could be helping people to quit smoking, running healthy eating courses, giving advice following a health check, and/or promoting being safe in the sun.

You’ll be given lots of great training on each of our initiatives, work closely with the local community and feed back to us on how we can help more people in the area. We’ll make sure you’re well equipped and raring to go before we send you out speaking to people!

So, is it you we’re looking for?

Well, we’re looking for friendly, reliable people with good communication skills and a passion for people. You’ll need to be rather organised and be aware of what it means to have a healthy lifestyle for this role.

Our Health and Wellbeing Manager, Maura, can’t wait to welcome you onboard. “These are really interesting roles in terms of us seeing how we can help raise awareness of cancer prevention in local communities. Our volunteers will be going along to Glynneath to chat to local groups and getting them to take part in our Healthcheck. Our volunteers can then advise on what sorts of things people can do to live healthier lifestyles.”
