Quit with Us

We recently marked No Smoking Day on Wednesday 8th March 2017, so if you smoke or know someone who does, now is the perfect time to quit. We know it can seem impossible but we're all behind you.

Why you should give up?

  • Smoking is the single greatest cause of premature death in Wales.
  • One person dies every two hours as a result of smoking.
  • Smoking is the cause of 90% of lung cancers and 30% of all other types of cancer, particularly cancers of the mouth and throat.
  • 19% of people in Wales still smoke and almost 20% are still exposed to other people's smoke including children.

Quit with Us
We know 70% of smokers want to quit, but many people need some extra support to get started. This year, we’re working with community pharmacies in South Wales to help smokers pack it in for good!

Nicotine Replacement Packs

If you're in South Wales, our community pharmacy service offers free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products combined with behavioural support. NRT products like patches and gum gives you some of the nicotine that you’d get from cigarettes, but without all the harmful stuff like tar, cyanide and carbon monoxide.

By signing up to community pharmacy services, smokers have a 42% chance of quitting, compared to 4% if you do it without help.

Support in the workplace
We take our services into the heart of the community including workplaces. We’re working with employers in the South Wales area to come along to your workplace between March and May and offer a drop-in service, with a pharmacist to give out free NRT packs.
