Swim for Life - 1k, 5k or 10k challenge
Saturday, 28th September 2019, National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty, Pontypridd
Our Swim for Life Challenge is back for 2019
Our Swim for Life Challenge was so successful
last year we're bringing it back, and this year it'll be bigger and better.
Take on a
1k, 5k or 10k challenge in the beautiful, heated National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty.
We're asking our supporters to swim the equivalent distance of part, or all of the Bristol Channel, without the worry of open water.
1k (the equivalent of Barry Dock Light House to Ship Propeller on the Beach), 5k (the equivalent of Lavernock Point to Flat Holm Island) or 10k (the equivalent of Goldcliff to Portishead).
You can take on the challenge
alone or get together a team and take on the challenge relay style! Teams must be made up of 2 - 5 people and registration is only £12 (each person must be registered) but for teams of four swimmers or more, registration is only £10 per person. Under 16’s swim for free!
We ask each of our swimmers to set a fundraising target of
£115 which pays for one day of cancer research, helping to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat it. Don't worry, we'll be here every step of the way to help you with your fundraising.
When you join Team Tenovus Cancer Care you'll receive:
A fundraising pack full of advice and tools to help reach your fundraising target
A Tenovus Cancer Care swimming cap
A Tenovus Cancer Care t-shirt and water bottle
Snacks and refreshments on the day
In the interest of health and safety, your swim will be timed by Tenovus Cancer Care staff and volunteers and fully supported by lifeguards at National Lido of Wales, Lido Ponty.
This challenge is suitable for most abilities however a good level of fitness is recommended. Participants must be 14 or older. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. See the full rules
