Supportive Award 2019
Supportive Award Nominations
Gaynor volunteers at the Wrexham Sing with Us choir and has been organising the local Friends of Tenovus Cancer Care Group for the past few years. She’s extremely passionate about the charity and never seems to stop raising funds.
She is kind and caring, laid back and level-headed. She understands the importance of not pressuring people into getting involved with fundraising, but equally makes it very easy for people to chip in as and when they feel they can. She’s excellent at making new members feel welcomed into the group.
Gaynor is innovative in her fundraising. She’s always thinking of new ideas to raise money. She works hard to make sure groups, like the craft group, have funds to make their crafts and raise even more money. She gives her time endlessly and is always there if anyone needs help or advice.
Rose is a fairly new member of the Llandudno Friends of Tenovus Cancer Care Group and Sing with Us choir but is already a great asset.
She never fails to offer her time for fundraising efforts and works hard to spot opportunities in the local area to raise funds and awareness. She has a steely determination to succeed in all the tasks she puts herself forward for. She is very organised, totally committed and has a great attention to detail.
Rose is very supportive towards group members who are taking on personal challenges, and has given up hours of her time to help with bucket collections for Kevin Sutton’s forthcoming fundraising effort.
Rose went above and beyond heading up the ticket sales for the Big Birthday Raffle, so much so that Llandudno ended up in the top three areas for ticket sales.
Wayne has been volunteering for Tenovus Cancer Care for nearly 18 months. During this time he’s packed a huge amount in to support the charity.
He’s a volunteer course presenter for ACTivate Your Life and he hosted the first ever Llanelli Lovelight Concert. He takes photographs at fundraising events and volunteers at bucket collections.
Not only is he an incredible supporter of the charity, but he offers hope to others by sharing his story. He’s spoken at charity meetings and Friends of Tenovus Cancer Care Groups, inspiring staff and volunteers alike.
He does all this at times when he might not be feeling 100%. When asking something of him, the response is always yes. ACTivate Your Life and Tenovus Cancer Care would not be the same without him.
