What is ACTivate Your Life - Affected Bby Cancer?
ACTivate Your Life – Affected By Cancer is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and has aspects of mindfulness throughout the course. ACT teaches skills around recognising how people react to stresses like emotional issues, mental health problems and chronic pain.
It also aims to teach new skills around changing how people respond to these kinds of stresses, through Acceptance of what can’t be changed and Commitment to live a fulfilling life. Mindfulness also teaches people how to stay in the present moment and enjoy life as it happens, as well as preventing rumination and worry.
ACTivate Your Life – Affected By Cancer is a course of four sessions. Each session is two hours long and a week apart.
