Orchard Media and Events Group launch Pass the Pledge Parcel!

Glenn Orchard

For our 75th birthday this year, we’ve launched Pass the Pledge Parcel. It’s our unique take on the childhood classic party game. Each recipient will pledge to support us in their own way. And, just like the old school game, they will then pass it on to someone else.

The aim of the game is to raise awareness of Tenovus Cancer Care and the work that we do, and to encourage more people to support us in the ways that they want to.

Orchard Media and Events Group, based in Cardiff, are the first recipients of the Pledge Parcel.

Glenn Hapgood, Head of Immersive Tech at Orchard Media and Events Group said, “Pass the Pledge Parcel is a really innovative idea. When Orchard were asked to be the first recipients I thought it was a fantastic opportunity to support the great work the charity does for cancer patients and their loved ones."

"Cancer affects us all doesn’t it? I think that most people at Orchard have been affected by it."

"I’ve personally been affected by cancer. My mother had breast cancer for 15 years and passed away a number of years ago. She was supported by Tenovus Cancer Care so anything we can do to support the vital research is a good thing for me."

"As Head of Immersive Tech at Orchard I’m aware of a current trend of VR experiences being used to allow people to understand a bit more about charities."

"So, Orchard has pledged to create a 360 degree immersive VR experience. The experience will start at a Tenovus Cancer Care local shop and will show how a simple donation gets turned into lifesaving cancer research. It will show people what goes on behind the scenes in the research labs."

"The VR experience will be used by Tenovus Cancer Care on social media, at various events, to attract corporate supporters, and generally to raise awareness of the charity’s research activities. We want as many people as possible to see it."

"For me, it’s going to be an interesting piece to complete and a good piece for supporters to understand where the money they donate is spent. It will make people feel like they are involved as much as possible."

"If this pledge can help raise revenues for Tenovus Cancer Care through people getting a bit more clued up on the support they offer and how valuable the research they do is, then that would be amazing.”

We’re sending the Pledge Parcel out into the community, to businesses, community groups and people just like you!

The support of our community means we can continue to fund life-saving research, and keep on providing vital services to cancer patients and their loved ones where it is needed the most – right in the heart of the community. And just like our services we, we want to take our Pass the Pledge game into the community too.
