Tenovus Cancer Care welcomes Welsh treatment fund
At Tenovus Cancer Care we welcome the announcement given today by the Welsh Government about the introduction of an £80m treatment fund.
Chief Executive, Claudia McVie, said “Patients have been expressing their concerns around access to new treatments for some time. Making medicines available as early as possible will give patients the best possible chance of beating cancer, but in addition, receiving treatment early has a massive impact on the wellbeing of people affected by cancer; we know waiting to start treatment is a cause of huge anxiety for patients.
“In addition to the injection of cash, continued dialogue with the pharmaceutical industry is vital to ensure that the latest drugs are made available to patients in Wales as quickly as possible.”
