There are occasions where we will receive and manage the sale of a gift left to us. For example jewellery, artwork and stocks and shares.

In the instance of gifts with more complex sale arrangements – like land – we might ask the instructing solicitor to obtain specialist valuation’s with the purpose of sale.

As a charity we welcome specific gifts and in managing the sale of these gifts, where appropriate, we will seek specialist knowledge with relation to their value.

In some cases specific gifts can be collected and sold through our retail estate. These gifts might include furniture, clothing and bric-a-brac.

In some cases, specific gifts can be collected and sold through our retail estate. However, in all cases we will discuss with the extracting solicitor or the executor the best ways to receive the gift.

An executor is legally responsible for carrying out the instructions set out in a Will after someone has died. Usually an executor will work with the instructed solicitor who will ensure that all instructions are completed in accordance with the law.
