We are inviting you to Learn with Us!

We have created a number of fun activities with some enjoyable science-themed resources. All you have to do to access these documents is click the links below which will open up a pdf that you can print.

The Cell

We are made up of trillions of cells, but do you know what each of our cells are made up of? Match the names of the different parts of the cell with their descriptions, and colour in the cell diagram. Bonus activity: Creative Cells! Using the diagram as a template, make your own cell out of play-dough, Lego, or anything you can find around your house such as cereal boxes and bottle tops. We’d love to see pictures of your cell creations by uploading them to social media and tagging us!

Word search

Complete the Tenovus Cancer Care Word Search by finding the answers to the questions in the word search.

Here Comes the Sun

We love the sun, perhaps because we don’t see enough of it. But how many of us are staying sun safe during lockdown? Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the UK and every time you get sunburn you triple your risk of developing skin cancer. Help keep your neighbours safe in the sun when they go out for a walk or to exercise by making a window display using our fun and creative Here Comes the Sun activities and share top tips for staying safe in the sun! We’d love to see your window displays too so don’t forget to upload a picture to social media and tag us @TCCInsightTeam

History of Cancer

Did you know dinosaurs had cancer? What do Egyptian hieroglyphs have to do with cancer? Complete our History of Cancer Activity Sheet to find out more interesting facts about cancer and research.

T Cell Maze

We have trillions of cells in our bodies, some of which help protect us from germs and other things that can harm us. Some cells that protect us are called T cells. Complete our maze by getting the T cell through the maze to the changed cell at the end, missing all of the healthy cells along the way.

The Human Body

We fund research into all different types of cancer, with the common goal to improve the lives of people affected by cancer and prevent cancer from occurring in the first place. Label the different body parts on our body map and colour it in.

How small is a nano

One of our funded PhD projects is on using nanotechnology to help treat cancer. Nanoparticles are very, very small. Find out how small nano really is with our How Small is Nano colouring activity.

House of Peas

We have trillions of cells in our bodies. If you imagine you filled your house with peas, that would be the same as the number of cells just in your little toe! Complete our House of Peas activity and draw your own house full of peas.

Science Scavenger Hunt

Complete our Science Scavenger Hunt and find items around your home that are similar to equipment scientists use in the lab! You may want to ask someone in your house to help you with this activity. This scavenger hunt is just for fun and the items you find cannot be used as protective equipment in a lab.

Word Jumble

Un-jumble the words and fill in the passage about Tenovus Cancer Care research.

Mixing chemicals

Mix the colours together in the flasks using paint or pencils to make the correct ‘chemicals’.
