Our Sing with Us choirs are for anyone affected by cancer. They provide support, friendship and fun, alongside the proven wellbeing benefits of singing

Research shows that singing can help reduce anxiety, lift your mood and improve overall wellbeing. But most importantly, our choirs offer a welcoming space where people can come together, connect with others who understand, and be part of something positive.

And the best part? Everyone can sing - even if you don’t think you can.

We have choirs across Wales, with new members joining all the time.

What our Sing with Us choirs are like

Our Sing with Us choirs are friendly, uplifting and inclusive, and are open to anyone who has been affected by cancer in any way — whether personally or through a loved one.

No musical experience is needed. You don’t need to read music or have sung before — just come along, give it a go, and enjoy being part of the group.

We sing a wide range of contemporary songs from the last 50 years, including well-loved tracks from artists such as Queen, Elvis, Rihanna, The Beach Boys, Take That and Adele. If you’d like to find out more, see our FAQs.

Evaluation and impact

At Tenovus Cancer Care, we regularly evaluate our services to ensure they meet the needs of people affected by cancer, continue to improve over time, and deliver the best possible value for money.

Evaluation helps us understand the real impact of our work — from the experiences of people using our services to the difference we are making in their daily lives.

Our most recent evaluation of the Sing with Us choirs shows the powerful impact of singing on wellbeing and connection. Among 1,491 choristers surveyed, 94% said they had made friends through the choir, and 87% said the choir had become a major part of their lives.

These findings highlight the importance of community-based cancer support services and the role our choirs play in reducing isolation and improving wellbeing for people affected by cancer across Wales.
