Tenovus Cancer Care announces appointment of three new Trustees

Caroline Bovey, Jane Hopkinson and Natasha de Terán will join the Board of Trustees at Tenovus Cancer Care.

Up to twelve members sit on the Tenovus Cancer Care Board of Trustees, each bringing a different skill set and expertise which reflects the variety of the charity’s work.

Caroline Bovey BEM will bring to the Board almost two decades’ experience in the NHS as a health professional and 15 years’ experience in a range of volunteer roles with the British Dietetic Association (BDA). Currently Chair of the BDA, Caroline also works in a public health dietetic leadership role in South Wales.

Professor Jane Hopkinson will add valuable experience as an oncology nurse and academic, with a portfolio of projects and publications relating to quality and improvement in cancer care. Jane is currently Velindre Professor of Nursing and Interdisciplinary Care at Cardiff University.

Author and former journalist, Natasha de Terán, will bring a wealth of knowledge in marketing, communications and government relations with a career spanning these roles, predominantly in the financial sector.

All appointees have been affected by cancer themselves, with Natasha recently recovering from stage 3 cancer after being diagnosed during the pandemic.

Chair of the Board, Professor Malcolm Mason OBE, says:

We’re fortunate to welcome three new Trustees, each with a wealth of experience and expertise.

Our aim is to champion the needs of people affected by cancer to drive the changes that make a real difference, not just now, but for future generations. I’m sure the appointment of Caroline, Jane and Natasha will help us achieve that aim.”

Tenovus Cancer Care Chief Executive, Judi Rhys MBE, added:

I’m delighted to see three women join our wonderful Board of Trustees and I’m looking forward to working with each of them.

“It’s vital we draw on the experience of all our Trustees to maintain and improve our service. With cancer waiting times at record levels and now the added pressure of the cost-of-living crisis, it’s more important than ever that we have the strong strategic leadership to keep our mission on course.”
