A lung cancer screening programme could save hundreds of lives by detecting cancer at an earlier, more treatable stage. The introduction of such a programme in Wales would only be successful if those at high risk of the disease take part. This research will be really important to develop better ways to encourage more people to take part in lung cancer screening if the UK decide to include it as part of their national screening programmes.
Researchers at Cardiff University are looking for people to sit on an online steering group with about 6 other members of the public to help develop the research project. You would be paid for your time at a rate of £50 per half day.
To apply to get involved, please email Dr Grace McCutchan at McCutchanGM@cardiff.ac.uk with the email title “AWCC: Invitations to lung cancer project”
