I’ve always wanted to run a marathon and I feel blessed I’m about to do that – I am the lucky one. I was determined not to let this (cancer) beat me and if I run it, walk it, or even crawl it at the end, I will get over that finish line. My biggest motivation is remembering the people who didn’t make it - my nan died of lung cancer and I have a friend who passed away within eight weeks of being diagnosed with breast cancer recently.

To become one of Tenovus Cancer Care’s charity place runners you’ll need to pay a registration fee of £50 and pledge to raise £2,000 in sponsorship for the charity. But don’t worry, our helpful and professional fundraising team will be there to support you every step of the way!

If you are lucky enough to secure your own ballot place, but still want to support people with cancer or run in memory of a loved one, you can join Team Tenovus as on ‘own place runner.’ You’ll receive the same support as our charity place runners, but there’s no minimum fundraising target, meaning you can select a target that’s right for you.
