Zoe Johnson signed up to play the make a smile lottery to support Tenovus Cancer Care in 2019. Zoe worked within the NHS at Wrexham Hospital at the time and was made aware of Tenovus Cancer Care’s services that support cancer patients right across Wales and beyond.
Zoe thought it was a great way to support the charity but with the added bonus that she might win something herself. In July 2021 Zoe was one of our lucky winners and bagged herself £1,000!
We recently caught up with Zoe to present her with her cheque and here’s what she had to say about her big win, “I was so surprised to get the call that I’d won £1,000 in the make a smile lottery! The lottery was an easy way for me to give back and support Tenovus Cancer Care, and I liked that I was in with a chance of winning something back – but I never thought I’d win £1,000!
“I recently moved house, so the money has allowed me to splash out on some home warming items.
“While working in Wrexham, I was made aware of how Tenovus Cancer Care supported cancer patients through their Benefits Advice service and saw the positive impact this had for patients and their families – I’m delighted to be able to support Tenovus Cancer Care.
“I would definitely encourage people to sign up for the make a smile lottery, you never know, you might end up winning too!”
