Keeping things simple

Thank you for your interest in the Tenovus Cancer Care Will writing service.

Writing a will can be a daunting task for many reasons. So we’ve put together some frequently asked questions to help answer some of your concerns.

Think about how you’d like to write your Will – the choice is yours!

The options include:

  • Online
  • On the phone.
  • Home visit*
  • Video call

*Covid 19 restrictions allowing.

You can sign up to receive our Free Legacy Pack through this form or by calling us  029 2076 8850.

Our free Will writing service through Free Wills Month is available to anyone 50 or over. If you are writing your Will as part of a couple, just one of you needs to be 50 or over.

Writing your will through Farewill has no age limit and you can still do this for free. To start the process, visit and use the code TCCFWM22. Or call the Farewill team on 020 8016 3943 and quote Tenovus Cancer Care.

Tenovus Cancer Care will cover the cost of a simple Will to be written for you. Should you need a more complex Will, you will be invited to pay the difference to cover the increased cost.

There’s absolutely no obligation to leave Tenovus Cancer Care a gift in your Will or make a donation, but we are thrilled and grateful that so many people choose to support us in this way.

Gifts in Wills help us secure a future that gives anyone in Wales access to the very best cancer treatment and support. A future that reduces the impact of cancer, gives people hope and helps them to live their best lives.

Our Partners are known in the charity field as industry leaders and we’re proud to work with them to offer you a variety of ways to write your Will.

At a local solicitors office

We work with the Free Wills Network to provide our supporters with the opportunity to write their will for free with a local solicitor. A list of partnering solicitors for the campaign can be found here.

For more information, please email us with your full name, address and phone number. Or you can phone us on 029 2076 8850. We will send you one of our legacy packs in the post.

Online Will writing and Telephone

Farewill provide simple online Wills in England & Wales. To start the process, visit and use the code TCCFWM22. From here you will be guided through an online form helping you to set out the terms of your Will. If you have any problems or questions whilst creating your Will, you can contact them via their webchat service. They also provide a telephone service if you’d rather chat to someone. If you would prefer to go through the process over the phone, call the Farewill team on 020 8016 3943 and quote Tenovus Cancer Care.

Once you’ve completed your Will, Farewill will review it within five working days and will get in touch with you if they have any questions. When they have completed your Will, they will send you a link so you can download a copy, print it and sign and witness it.

You can make or update your Will as part of our Free Wills Month campaign. You can do so at any time by contacting one of the solicitors supporting the campaign (See FAQ above) or by completing this form.

It’s recommended that you update your Will if you make any life changes that could impact your current Will. For example: moving to a new house, the arrival of grandchildren, family bereavement, changes to your financial situation.

You will not be able to make amendments to an existing will through the Farewill will-writing partner as they deal in new wills only.

Self-isolating doesn’t mean that you need to put off writing your Will. Our Partners can take you through the process on the phone, online, or via video call. However, getting your Will witnessed can cause concern, but you don’t need to put it off.

To get around this, you could arrange for both of your witnesses to watch through a closed window as you sign your Will – it’s important that they’re present at the same time for this.

Then, after ensuring that your witnesses have recently sanitised their hands, you can pass your Will through your letterbox. You’ll then need to return to the window to watch them both add their details and signatures to your Will – ideally, they should use their own pens for this.

After sanitising their hands again, they can return the will to you through the letterbox, allowing you to put it away somewhere safe. For more information on this, our Partner Farewill have some good guidance on Will writing and witnessing when self-isolating.

Gifts in Wills are hugely important to Tenovus Cancer Care and make up a significant portion of our income.

We want a future that gives anyone affected by cancer, in Wales and beyond, the best access to the treatment and support they need. A future that reduces the impact of cancer, gives people hope and helps them to live their best lives. And gifts in Wills help us do just that.

Whatever your gift, even 1% can help us give hope, help and a voice to anyone affected by cancer in Wales.

A cancer diagnosis for you or someone you love can lead to unexpected costs. If you’re unable to work or have to make changes to your lifestyle, it can be expensive. And if you’re unable to work, bills can quickly mount up. There are often benefits and grants that you might be entitled to which can help with some of the financial pressure of cancer.

Our team of expert Benefits Advisors can talk to you about what financial support is available and guide you through the complex benefits system. We can look at your circumstances like your financial situation, who you live with and what health needs you have, and advise you in detail about any welfare benefits, grants, or practical help that you should perhaps be getting.

They can also help with applications, and advise on challenging benefits decisions or help with progressing claims where necessary. Please click here to find out how to chat with a Benefits Advisor.
