IT Volunteer

Why am I needed?

We need your help if you are a detail-oriented and technically capable individual to assist us in reviewing, comparing, and documenting the security roles, team structures, and access permissions within Microsoft Dynamics 365. This is a fixed volunteering role ideal for someone with experience in Dynamics administration, business analysis, or IT documentation.

You will work closely with our IT team to:

  • Review current security and team role configurations within Dynamics 365
  • Compare existing roles to best practices and business requirements
  • Document findings in a clear, structured format and
  • Put a list together with us on what we can combine into a role.

What will I be doing?

Your main tasks will involve, but may not be limited to:

  • Analysing security roles, privileges, and access levels in Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Comparing team security roles and hierarchies across different departments
  • Identifying gaps, overlaps, or inconsistencies in current role assignments
  • Helping prepare detailed documentation including:
    o Role definitions and access summaries
    o Comparison tables and visual mappings
    o Recommendations for improvement
  • Setting up meetings with stakeholders to understand business needs and security requirements with IT.

What skills and qualities do I need?

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 security roles and team structures
  • Experience in systems analysis, business analysis, or IT documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Clear written communication skills for documentation purposes

If you have any of experience of or practical application of:

  • Previous experience in a CRM set up or ERP-focused role
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)

Where will I be based?

For this role you will be at our Head Office, located in Jones Court, Womanby Street, Cardiff, CF10 1BR or you can work remotely with us if you would prefer.

What about the hours?

We would ideally love our volunteer to help us out over a two to three week period to review all the profiles that we have, but this can be broken down into one day a week for the duration of the project that we have if this is easier over a slightly longer period.

Ideally we are looking to finish this within two months of beginning this review.
