A bride wore a pre-loved gown from Tenovus Cancer Care’s bridal shop at her dream wedding to the “love of her life” on the beautiful Cornish coast.
Loved up newly-weds Vicky and Tom tied the knot during a non-traditional ceremony Saturday – three years after meeting at a “Zoom wedding” during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Vicky, 39, and three of her bridesmaids looked stunning in a bridal gown and dresses bought for under £300 at our bridal store located on Bristol’s cosmopolitan Gloucester Road.
The happy couple had vowed to marry pre-loved style, to save money and support people affected by cancer by buying second hand.
Groom Tom, 44, proposed to Vicky in Florence, Italy, on the Piazzele Michelangelo overlooking the romantic city last year.
They chose scenic village Kingsand – part of the so called “forgotten corner” on Cornwall’s Rame Peninsula- for their boho-style wedding with family and friends.
Tom’s best friend Jez conducted the ceremony, and the bride’s ring was made of sea glass from the beach where they exchanged their vows.
During the day some of the couple’s favourite tunes were strummed on guitar by a mutual friend. Happy Together by The Turtles was also sung during the ceremony.
Their reception ended in the Maker with Rame Community Hall, run by volunteers, after guests walked in a procession though the village.
The couple are now honeymooning camping on the Cornish coast.They have yet to choose their new surname from suggestions made by guests during their wedding day.
Bride Vicky said: “I found my dream dress at Tenovus Cancer Care’s bridal shop, as well as three of my bridesmaid’s dresses, and all the dresses couldn’t be more beautiful.
Tenovus’ cause is close our hearts and Tom and I are tremendously proud to be able to support the cancer charity through the choices we made for our special day. It’s given us a feel-good factor you just can’t buy, and we couldn’t be happier.”
