The Welsh and UK Governments have a huge role in preventing, diagnosing, treating and supporting people living with, and beyond cancer. That’s why we work alongside politicians to help represent cancer patients and their loved ones.
What we do
We’re proud to work with Members of the Senedd (MS) and MPs across all parties to be the voice of people living with and beyond cancer in Wales.
How we can support MSs and MPs
We respond to a wide range of consultations from the Welsh and UK Governments, and their Parliaments and sit on a number of national bodies that influence cancer policy in Wales.
Tenovus Cancer Care also supports elected politicians by arranging:
- Background briefings and statistics for plenary and scrutiny work
- Opportunities to attend a laboratory tour, visit of one our Mobile Support Units in your constituency or region, or attend a Sing with Us choir. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic we are currently unable to offer these opportunities to elected members
- Support responding to casework
Ideas for the next Welsh Government
We’ve published our ‘Ideas for the next Welsh Government’, a menu of good ideas that we’d like to see political parties adopting, in order to support people affected by cancer. Read our ideas for the next Welsh Government.
