Chief Executive, Judi Rhys MBE, Highly Commended in Public & Third Sector Director of the Year Award

Tenovus Cancer Care is delighted to announce our Chief Executive, Judi Rhys, MBE, has been highly commended in the Public & Third Sector category of this year’s Institute of Directors (IoD) Wales Director of the Year Awards.

The awards recognise public and third sector leaders in Wales who have a deep understanding of what it takes to lead, and who are a driving force of innovation and positive change, making a real difference to those they represent.

IoD Highly Commended

I am surprised and delighted to be recognised for my leadership of Tenovus Cancer Care by being Highly Commended in our Public & Third sector Director of the Year Award.

At the heart of all I do, is the people I represent – from my trusted staff to our dedicated volunteers and the people affected by cancer to whom we give help, hope and a voice.

By working as one team, Tenovus Cancer Care is making a difference every day to the lives of those we represent. As a charity, we provide emotional, practical, and therapeutic support. But we are also bold and strive to be at the forefront of positive change - for earlier detection of cancer, and to save more lives of the one-in-two of us who will be diagnosed in our lifetimes.

By listening to, and working alongside those who have experienced cancer, we will not stop to make our voice heard for all those who have been diagnosed too late. I aim to lead by example, working towards building a brighter future in Wales where fewer families from all backgrounds have lost a loved one to cancer needlessly.

I congratulate the other wonderful candidates from the public and third sector in Wales doing some amazing work in difficult times.
