The University of Liverpool are inviting people to take part in a research study exploring the experiences of cancer care for autistic people. This project is funded by North West Cancer Research and led by the University of Liverpool.

They are looking for three groups of participants:

  • Autistic adults (without a learning disability) who have recent experience of cancer care in the North West of England or North Wales
  • Relatives or supporters who have supported an autistic person through their cancer care
  • Healthcare professionals who have experience of supporting autistic patients during cancer treatment

Taking part will involve a one-to-one interview lasting around 60 minutes. Interviews can be carried out online, by phone, or in person depending on your preference. All participants will receive a £20 shopping voucher as a thank you for their time and contribution.

By sharing your experiences, you will help them to understand what is working well and where improvements are needed. Their aim is to identify barriers to care and develop practical recommendations to ensure cancer services are more inclusive and supportive for autistic people in the future.

If you are interested in taking part, or would like more information, please contact - kirtonj@liv.ac.uk

Your contribution will make a real difference in helping improve the quality of cancer care for autistic people and their families.
