We welcome autistic and non-autistic people, aged 18 years and over, who have had a diagnosis of breast cancer and treatment in the UK to take part in our survey and help us understand whether there are any similarities or differences in their experiences.

The survey is part of the wider Autistic Experiences of Breast Cancer research project, and the questions have been co-designed with our Lived Experience Advisory Group. The findings of the survey will be written up for academic publication and will feed into guidelines for healthcare professionals to better support autistic patients and provide recommendations for autistic people who are receiving cancer treatment.

To access the survey please follow this link - online survey. We anticipate that it will take around 30 minutes to complete depending on your cancer experience. We have two versions of our information sheet, one that uses everyday language and images, the other is more detailed. They can be accessed on the first page of the survey or are available to view from our website https://www.aebcstudy.co.uk/

For Tenovus Cancer Care community members, please use the code word: kind road when asked in the survey.

Thank you for considering participating in this survey. Re-telling your cancer story can be a cathartic experience although we do not underestimate the personal and emotional cost of sharing your cancer experience. Whilst there will be no direct benefit to your cancer care experience, and no payment, as a result of taking part, we do hope that this project will provide much needed information about barriers to cancer care for autistic people that can inform change.
