We continue to call on the Welsh government and NHS to fully implement the findings at speed of the Senedd's Health and Social Care Committee's report 'Unheard: Women's journey through gynaecological cancer'.

Many of the women who shared their experience with the Committee believed that healthcare professionals did not listen to their concerns nor take their symptoms seriously.

We are calling on the Welsh Government and NHS leaders to reconsider the exclusion of gynaecological cancer in the Women’s Health Plan and include gynaecological cancer as part of a review based on the Plan being published as a live and iterative document.

Meet Claire O'Shea

A tribute to Claire

We are devastated by the death of our friend and cancer campaigner Claire O'Shea who passed away from gynaecological cancer at the age of 42 on 12 May 2025.

After receiving her own incurable cancer diagnosis following a poor experience, Claire made it her mission to raise awareness and make sure that other women in Wales wouldn't have to go through the same.

Her strength, warmth, and determination inspired hundreds of women to share their experiences and helped drive real change in how gynaecological cancers are understood, talked about, and addressed across Wales.

Claire's untimely death is a powerful reminder of why Claire's Campaign matters so much.
