Breast cancer doesn't just affect your physical health. It can change how you see yourself, your relationships, and your future.
For many women, the impact of breast cancer extends far beyond appointments, scans and treatment. Changes to the body, worries about the future, challenges in relationships, concerns about work or family life, and the emotional toll of a cancer diagnosis can all have a lasting effect.
Some women complete treatment and find the transition to life afterwards difficult. Others remain on long-term treatment, navigating physical and emotional challenges every day. Whatever their experience, many face struggles that are rarely talked about.
Research shows that 44% of women say breast cancer has negatively affected their body image, while one in four say it has impacted their sense of identity. Yet despite how common these experiences are, many people do not feel able to talk about them.
At Tenovus Cancer Care, we know that breast cancer can affect far more than physical health. That’s why we provide emotional and practical support to people affected across Wales.
Through our Support Line and Callback Nurses, Counsellors and wider support services, we help people find answers, access the right support, and feel less alone.
