This month, we gathered our incredible community of supporters and volunteers in three different locations across Wales and England for our Dathlu a Diolch / Celebrate and Thanks events. The first took place in Llandudno, the second was in Swansea, and the third was in Salisbury and we were thrilled to welcome over 100 people across the three dates.
Every minute dedicated to Tenovus Cancer Care by our sensational volunteers, supporters and colleagues is invaluable in making a difference to the lives of people affected by cancer and with an ever-growing need for our range of services, these events provided the perfect opportunity to say diolch (thank you) and celebrate everyone’s contribution to the charity.
During the events, a member from every department shared updates and successes, from our services and network of shops, calendar of fundraising events and policy and influencing work to our community of volunteers. We also shared the impact of our work in our communities across Wales and England.
Over the last year:
- Our free Support Line received over 7,000 calls
- 2,000 applications were submitted with support from our Benefits Advisors
- Over 400 referrals were made to our Counselling Service
- Our network of Sing with Us choirs grew to over 900 members
We also took the opportunity to raise awareness of our newly launched Therapeutic Virtual Support Groups – an online offering for anyone affected by cancer living in Wales, aged over 18 years.
