Celebrating the Faces Behind the Impact: Our Incredible Volunteers

The beating heart of Tenovus Cancer Care

At Tenovus Cancer Care, we rely on the work of every single one of our volunteers to help us continue supporting people diagnosed with cancer across Wales.  They go above and beyond for our us, and just like every year, this one has been no different. We couldn’t be more grateful for everything they do for our charity - but saying diolch just isn’t enough.

Making a difference, one volunteer at a time

Our Volunteer Awards is an annual event dedicated to celebrating and honouring the hard work and loyalty of our volunteers, and we want you to join us in recognising our community for their incredible actions. At Tenovus Cancer Care, there are plenty of opportunities for volunteering in all areas of our charity, between retail and events and fundraising and support services there is a different role for everyone.

Meet Sam who volunteers in the Tenovus Cancer Care shop on Albany Road, Cardiff. When we met him, he told us that when he arrived at Cardiff University to study history, he had some free time he wanted to fill doing something productive and meaningful. Sam said he wants to give back to the community he calls home and he enjoys interacting with all the different people who come into the shop. He knows that some customers come in just looking for a chat so it’s nice to speak to people who may otherwise not get that day-to-day social interaction.

Lots of our volunteers just like Sam love volunteering with Tenovus Cancer Care and with 1144 volunteers across our charity we could not do what we do without them. We want to know who you think deserves recognition for everything they do for our charity and its community. The nomination form will ask you who you want to nominate and why, so if one of our volunteers has shone out to you or had a lasting impact on the support you have received please nominate them so we can all say diolch!

Nominations will close on Thursday 12 March 2026!
