Connecting with communities in Swansea Bay

We're delighted to start work to connect communities with vital cancer support services, thanks to a remarkable award from The Shaw Foundation.

Shaw Foundation is a charity which partners with care businesses, public organisations, and other charities to improve care for all.

The award funds a Community Engagement Officer role in the Swansea Bay University Health Board area. This post will help to make sure people affected by cancer have access to the best support after a diagnosis by promoting Tenovus Cancer Care, developing community links, improving access to services, and creating partnerships with local agencies.

Having experienced cancer myself, I appreciate the significant impact it can have and the importance of support services like Tenovus Cancer Care’s.

More people than ever are living with cancer in Wales and getting the right support to people who need it is vital. I’m looking forward to connecting with communities, particularly seldom-heard groups who are less likely to access these types of services.
