New partnership supports carers affected by cancer in Swansea

We are proud to launch a new partnership with Swansea Carers Centre.

Swansea Carers Centre is a specialist voluntary organisation providing support to carers and former carers across Swansea. The aim of the partnership is to unite our service offering to support carers affected by cancer.

On Friday 1 March (St David’s Day), we celebrated the collaboration with an event at Grand Hotel, Swansea.

Chief Executive of Swansea Carers Centre, Ifor Glyn, opened the event alongside our Director of Support, Policy & Insight, Lowri Griffiths.

Sioned Williams, MS for South West Wales, who has a personal experience of being a carer, attended and expressed her support of the partnership.

The relationship was built thanks to our Swansea Community Engagement Officer, who’s role is funded by the Shaw Foundation.

I'm thrilled to launch this partnership with Swansea Carers Centre. Having had experience of cancer and of caring myself, I recognise the importance of having the right support in place.

Bringing our two services together makes complete sense and I’m looking forward to working together to make a difference to the lives of carers affected by cancer.

Community Engagement Officer, Judith Major

Guests enjoyed a special performance from our Swansea Sing with Us choir.
