Most days, my role involves meetings, report writing, answering emails, and all the usual demands that come with leading this amazing charity. But this May, I’m stepping away from the desk, pushing beyond my comfort zone, and taking on a challenge like no other.
As CEO of Tenovus Cancer Care, I see first-hand the difference our work makes every single day. More than ever, people affected by cancer need support—practical, emotional, and immediate. That’s why I’ve decided not just to talk about the importance of our work, but to take action and raise vital funds myself as cancer has also affected close members of my family.
Starting on 09 May, I’ll be taking on 10 Y Fan—an intense challenge to climb Pen y Fan ten times within 24 hours. That’s right—ten climbs in a single day. It’s going to be tough, both physically and mentally (and yes, I’m already thinking about how much my legs will ache afterwards!).
To put it into perspective, Pen y Fan stands at 2,907 feet. Climbing it ten times means covering a total elevation roughly equivalent to Mount Everest. It’s a huge challenge—but one that reflects the scale of what so many people affected by cancer face every day.
