Making sure nobody faces cancer alone: our year of impact in 2025/26

Throughout 2025/26, Tenovus Cancer Care continued to stand alongside people affected by cancer across Wales, providing vital emotional, practical and financial support at every stage of their journey.

This year has shown the importance of compassionate, accessible cancer support. From specialist Nurses offering advice 365 days a year, to Counselling, Benefits Advice, Community Engagement and our Sing with Us choirs, our services helped people feel informed, supported and connected when they needed it most.

Alongside direct support, we continued to ensure the voices of people affected by cancer shaped the future of cancer care through our All Wales Cancer Community, which grew to 271 members.

A key learning from the year is that cancer support must look beyond treatment alone. People need help with the emotional, financial and practical challenges that come with a diagnosis, and they need services that listen, adapt and respond to their experiences.

We recognise that delivering life-changing support requires a financially resilient and sustainable charity. Throughout the year we have focused on improving efficiency, strengthening partnerships, growing income and ensuring that we are well positioned to meet future demand.

While there remains much to do, we are optimistic about the future. We have a clear strategy, a strong reputation, dedicated staff and volunteers, and the support of communities across Wales. Most importantly, we remain driven by the experiences of people affected by cancer and determined to ensure their voices continue to shape the future of cancer care.
