Moondance Cancer Initiative is delighted to be launching CADARN (Collaborative Action for Driving & Accelerating Research Nationally) – a system-level intervention to unlock the potential of cancer research across Wales.
CADARN tackles long-standing barriers by working with the system to bring structure and shared focus for faster, fairer delivery. Through targeted rounds, each focused on a single cancer type, CADARN brings people together to agree priorities, activate delivery, and generate new ideas.
The first CADARN round is focused on colorectal cancer, with the inaugural National Meeting taking place on Thursday 13 November 2025 at The Parkgate Hotel, Cardiff.
They are inviting expressions of interest from patients to take part in the afternoon research sandpit session. In this session, you will work alongside doctors, nurses, and Research & Development specialists, bringing lived experience to help shape potential new research ideas for colorectal cancer.
They welcome interest from people anywhere in Wales who:
- received their diagnosis and treatment within Wales
- were diagnosed within the past decade and have now completed treatment
Practical details:
- Arrival: 1pm at The Parkgate Hotel, Westgate Street, Cardiff (lunch provided)
- Session time: 1pm – 5.30pm
- All travel costs will be covered
- Participants will join the research sandpit sessions alongside clinical and research colleagues. No research experience is necessary – your lived experience is what matters most
