Cardiff University and NHS researchers are inviting people who have undergone, or are undergoing, treatment for cancer to take part in an online focus group on immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer. They are working on a research project which uses viruses to train the immune system to target and treat cancer and would like the discuss their research with patients.
Before the session you will receive a short questionnaire asking about your current understanding of immunotherapies.
During the 90-minute online focus group on 26 November 2026 (10.30–12.00) the researchers will talk to you about how immunotherapies work and how they are used to treat cancer patients. They will also present their current research project and welcome discussion and feedback on how clear and easy the information is to understand. Insight into shaping future aspects of the project to make sure they align with real-life experiences will also be welcomed.
After the focus group you will receive a similar questionnaire as before. There will also be an opportunity to review a written summary of the project to ensure that it is clear and easy to understand. Your comments and suggestions will be fed directly into the current project and will help shape future research.
Participants will receive £50 for answering the questionnaires and attending the focus group and an additional £12.50 for reviewing the written summary. Childcare or carer costs will be available if you need to make alternative arrangements to attend.
