Symptom awareness campaign

Our 'Life Shouldn't Be Hard to Swallow' campaign raises awareness of the symptoms of oesophageal and stomach cancer.

Lack of awareness around symptoms can result in late diagnosis and poor outcomes for people affected by oesophageal and stomach cancer.

A survey conducted on behalf of the Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce (November 2022), revealed only 1% and 4% of people surveyed in Wales recognised the symptoms of oesophageal and stomach cancer, respectively.

We want to raise awareness of the symptoms so cancer can be detected as early as possible, giving people the best treatment outcomes.
