October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A month where we go on a pink mission to support the 56,000 women and 400 men who receive a breast cancer diagnosis every year in the UK, but we can’t do it alone.
We invite you to join our mission and help raise funds to support our vital cancer services which are available to everyone affected by cancer in Wales. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, can make a difference.
- Step out of your comfort zone with our Fire and Glass Walks.
If you’re looking for a bold way to show your support, then this adrenaline fuelled event is perfect for you. Taking place in three locations across Wales – Conwy, Newport, Llandeilo – every step of this 2.5 metre challenge, whether on red hot embers, shards of glass or both, will be in support of people affected by cancer. - Host a Go Pink event or challenge
Bring your friends, family and colleagues together to raise money for a meaningful cause. Host a pink coffee morning at home or at work, run a pub quiz, hold a raffle, or plan the Olympink Games in the village park or at school. A Go Pink event or challenge is a fun and simple way to raise funds and get everyone involved. We’ll be on hand every step of the way with ideas, resources and useful tips and tricks to help make your event a success.
Don’t forget to share your photos on social media and tag us @TenovusCancerCare to inspire others to Go Pink too. - Create a birthday Facebook Fundraiser
If you’re celebrating your birthday in October, ask your friends and family to donate to us through a facebook fundraiser, instead of gifts. Your support will help fund services like our Support Line, Mobile Support Units and Sing with Us choirs, bringing care and comfort to those who need it the most. - Take on a Personal Challenge
Join an existing challenge or create your very own. Every step you take helps us to provide life-changing support and care for people affected by cancer.
Whether its walking, cycling, or swimming or something entirely unique, set yourself a personal challenge this October. If you’ve signed up to do a challenge like the Oysho Cardiff Half Marathon, you can join #TeamTenovus as an own place runner or if you prefer a full marathon, we still have places available for Marathon Eryri.
Whatever you chose to do this Breast Cancer Awareness Month, every contribution makes a difference. Whether you’re going pink, getting active, or gathering your community, your support helps us continue providing care and comfort to people affected by cancer across Wales.
